Bruno Albuquerque de Castro holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from São Paulo State University (Unesp), Bauru campus, with a sandwich doctoral period at the University of Surrey, United Kingdom. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and serves as Associate Editor-in-Chief of the journal IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement. He holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Unesp, Bauru campus. In addition to serving as a reviewer for several international journals, he was recognized for three consecutive years with the Outstanding Associate Editor award by the IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement Journal. His research interests include electronic circuits, digital signal processing, instrumentation, intelligent systems, sensors, pattern recognition, automation, and non-destructive techniques applied to monitoring and fault diagnosis in power transformers. He is currently an Assistant Professor (MS 3.2) in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Unesp, Bauru campus. Dr Bruno served as coordinator of the Graduate Program in Electrical Engineering at the same institution from 2023 to 2025, where he currently remains a permanent faculty member and council member.
