I have a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the Università degli Studi di Firenze (2002), a Master's in Science in Mathematics from Cornell University (2006), a Dottorato di Ricerca in Mathematics from the Università degli Studi di Firenze (2005) and a PhD in Mathematics from Cornell University (2008). I have extensive postdoctoral experience having been at the Centre de Recerca Matematica Barcelona (Spain), at the University of Virginia (USA), the Université de Paris Sud 11 (France) and the Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal) I am currently an Associate Professor MS 5.1 with "Livre Docéncia" in Algebra (a habilitation similar to the French and German Habilitation) at the Instituto de Matemática, Estatística e Computação Científica of the Universidade Estadual de Campinas. I am also a Collaborator Member for the Centro de Matematíca e Aplicações (CEMAT) in Lisbon (with support from the FCT - Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, Portugal) I work in Asymptotic, Combinatorial and Geometric Group Theory, a framework lying between Algebra and Topology.
