Lais Albuquerque Giraldi

Currently she is Guest Researcher at the Laboratory of Applied Microbiology at UFSCar-Sorocaba, working in projects to develop national kits for detection and quantification of cyanotoxins in water. PhD in Science at USP in the Bioenergy Integrated PhD Program (USP, UNICAMP and UNESP) (2021) with the host institution being the Institute of Chemistry of USP, in the project "Integrative analysis of proteomics, metabolomics and lipidomics to study the accumulation of neutral lipids in microalgae Chlamydomonas reinhardtii", with a FAPESP grant. Part of her PhD. was performed at Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology (Germany), through the BEPE-FAPESP program, where she studied metabolomics analysis of microalgae and plants. In 2021 she worked at StartUp Seip7 with the development of new technologies for tertiary treatment of wastewater using microcustaceous and microalgae. She holds a Master degree in Science from the Hydraulic and Sanitation Engineering Program at EESC-USP (2014), where she studied the production of saxitoxins in a Brazilian cyanobacterial strain. She is biologist from UFSCar (2011) where she worked in a Scientific Initiation project by CNPq in the area of microbiology, which evaluated the quality of the water and sediment of Sorocaba River. She was monitor in microbiology and biochemistry subjects for Biology courses, Environmental Engineering, Forestry Engineering and Veterinary Medicine. Lines of research in the area of Microalgae Biotechnology, "omics" data, Environmental Microbiology and Sanitation. She has experience with analysis and integration of "omics" data, molecular biology and biochemical techniques, and isolation and cultivation of microalgae and cyanobacteria.She is reviewer in international journals and has 2 awards for best work in conferences (2011 and 2019) and 1 merit award from UFSCar (2011).
