Mariana Cavalheiro Magri

Graduated in Licentiate and Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (2003); Advanced Training (Specialization) in Immunology at the Adolfo Lutz Institute (IAL) in Sao Paulo (2004-2006), with a FUNDAP scholarship; Master's Degree in Clinical Analysis from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Sao Paulo - FCF-USP (2006-2008), with a CNPq scholarship; PhD in Sciences, in the area of Clinical Analysis, from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Sao Paulo - FCF-USP (2008-2013), with a Capes scholarship; developing research at the Immunology Center and the Retrovirus Laboratory of IAL. She is currently Scientific Researcher VI (2012-present) and Substitute Head of the Viral Hepatology Laboratory (LIM47) at the Clinical Hospital of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Sao Paulo (HCFMUSP) (2019-present), Vice-Coordinator of the Specialization Course in Serology and Molecular Biology in Viral Hepatitis, at the HCX of FMUSP (2014-present), Advisor of the Postgraduate Program in Infectious and Parasitic Diseases at FMUSP (2016-present) and Professor of the Postgraduate Program in Infectious and Parasitic Diseases at FMUSP (2021-present). She has experience in the characterization of microorganisms and technological development, in the investigation of the pathogen-host relationship, and in the identification, characterization and immune response to viruses, with an emphasis on viral hepatitis and other microorganisms that can affect the liver, human retroviruses and HHV-8. Furthermore, she received the Incentive Award in Science and Technology for the SUS (1st place) of the Ministry of Health of Brazil.
