Aerospace and mechanical engineer with a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Space Engineering and Technology from the National Institute for Space Research (INPE). Graduated in Aeronautical Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Itajubá (UNIFEI) and completed a sandwich program in Aerospace Engineering at George Washington University as a scholarship recipient of the Science Without Borders program, GS/CSF - CAPES. His main areas of expertise include astrodynamics, guidance, navigation and control (GNC), and robotics.During the master's program, he focused on the detailed study of gravity assists, analyzing design errors using various methods. This work is of paramount importance in such sensitive maneuvers, falling within the field of mission design and analysis, astrodynamics, and GNC. In his Ph.D., inspired by the DART mission and its SMARTNAV system, which provides autonomy to the spacecraft before impact with the asteroid, he conducted a comprehensive study on spacecraft aiming to deflect asteroids. This study encompassed mission analysis and design to GNC, with a special focus on robotic and fully autonomous spacecraft. He also has an interest in modeling and simulation of dynamical systems, nonlinear dynamics and control, optimal control, estimation, flight software, embedded systems, mobile robotics, and autonomous vehicles.
