Kate earned a Bachelor's degree in Biomedicine from the University of Araraquara. Kate obtained his Master's degree in 2009 and his Doctorate in Microbiology in 2013 from the Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp) at the Biosciences Institute of Rio Claro. Subsequently, he completed his postdoctoral research at the University of São Paulo (USP) at the São Carlos Institute of Physics and at Texas AM University in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. He is currently serving as a faculty member at the Physics Institute of São Carlos (USP), contributing to the Optics and Photonics Research Center (CEPOF). His work focuses on various biotechnological applications employing optical properties in biological systems to develop products and processes aimed at treating diseases caused by microorganisms.
