Victor is a PhD student in IQ-USP Biological Sciences (Biochemistry) Program, under the guidance of prof Dr. William Festuccia from Physiology Department of ICB-USP and Dr Bettina Malnic. Dr Bettina Malnic was also his advisor during his Masters and undergraduate studies, both from IQ-USP. In his doctoral studies, he wants to undestand the mTORC2 regulation mechanisms, a pathway so important and, at same time, so neglected. In this work, he analyses the effects of GPCRs and G protein in the mTORC2 regulation. This is a next step after his master studies, when it was verified that the depletion of Ric-8B expession, that is correlated with G protein, leads to severe reduction on mTORC2 activity. He also developed computational research about genic expression of olfactory receptors as Undergraduate student and developed a research about paper decomposition using microorganisms picked from ruminants to obtain Chemistry Technician degree in Etec Getulio Vargas. He received fellowships from FAPESP during his Masters and Undergraduate researches and now is hoping to assure this fellowship for PhD also. He also has animal and cell manipulating skills and knows immunological and molecular biology techniques. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
