He is currently a member of the Dark Energy Survey and holds his doctorate at Brandeis University under the guidance of Prof. Soares-Santos. Further, Mr. Esteves holds a double degree in Physics, from the Federal University of Uberlândia - Brazil (2016) and the Université du Havre - France (2015). He was awarded the competitive Science without Borders fellowship in 2015-2016 and trained at the Observatoire de Paris at LERMA - France, in star formation. He has a master's degree in Astronomy from the IAG - USP (Institute of Astronomy, Geophysics and Atmospheric Sciences).
