Adjunct Researcher - Socioecology - National Institute of the Atlantic Rainforest (Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation). PhD from the Interdisciplinary Program in Environment and Society (in the area of Biological Aspects of Sustainability and Conservation) at the Center for Environmental Studies (2014 - NEPAM), State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). He has a degree in Oceanography (2004-University of Vale do Itajaí, Santa Catarina) and a master's degree in Nature Conservation (2007-University College London, United Kingdom). FAPESP Post-Doctorate at the Oceanographic Institute of the State University of São Paulo (2017-2020), in the Marine Management, Ecology and Conservation Laboratory. Post-Doctorate at the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2022-2024). It develops projects and initiatives in four main lines of education-research-extension, including: 1. Ocean governance and analysis of socio-ecological systems; 2. Educommunication, environmental education and socio-environmental citizenship; 3. Ethnoecology and Marine Ethnoconservation and; 4. Entrepreneurship in coastal and marine knowledge-action networks. Acts as an advisor or advisor to a variety of governmental and non-governmental organizations, Brazilian (e.g. Instituto Linha D'Água) and international (International Collective for the Support of Fisheries Workers; Future Earth Ocean Knowledge-Action Networks; Rede de Ação Oceanos Knowledge; Projeto Futuro of the Earth; Foundation for Ocean Sustainability; and Steering Committee of the Office of Coordination of the UN Decade "Connecting People and Ocean"), and on the editorial board or as a reviewer of several scientific journals belonging to the area of Environmental and Marine Sciences. He was recently invited to join the International Science Council, in recognition of his significant contribution to science for the common good. He is actively involved in building knowledge action networks in the Atlantic Forest Biome along the Brazilian coastal zone, emphasizing spatial management approaches (e.g., protected areas and spatial planning). It uses and develops inter- and transdisciplinary methodologies that contribute to socio-environmental citizenship directly linked to the improvement of environmental governance at multiple levels (local, national or international).
