Vera Maria Lopes Ponçano

Dr. Ponçano holds a B.S. degree in Biochemistry and Pharmaceutics from the University of São Paulo (1974); a PhD degree in Nuclear Materials Technology from the Energy and Nuclear Research Institute (IPEN), a FEA/USP joint program (2007). Today she is the Advisor to the Board of the Sao Paulo Metrology Network (REMESP) and acts as technical consultant to a number of national and international organizations such as: Consumer?s Protection Institute (IDEC, Brazil), Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB, Germany), EC Quality Institute (European Aid Co-operation) / ProInvest and Equinocio/Spain. Her recent positions include: President of CITAC - Cooperation on International Traceability in Analytical Chemistry; Director of IPT?s Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Division, and IPT?s Coordinator for International Relations. Among others, Dr. Poncano has great experience in the following areas: management of quality systems, metrology in chemistry, metrological practices, interlaboratorial programs, standard and reference materials, certification, traceability and comparability of results.
