About MeI am a physiotherapist with a strong background in neuroscience, molecular imaging, and translational research. I earned my degree from Universidade Cidade de São Paulo (UNICID) in 2006 and have since dedicated my career to advancing the understanding of neurobiology and physiology. I completed my masters (2009), PhD (2013), and postdoctoral training (20142017) at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at the University of São Paulo (ICB/USP), specializing in human physiology and neurobiology.Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Nuclear Medicine and PET at Aarhus University (Denmark), where my research focuses on neuroimaging applications in both preclinical and clinical models. My international academic journey includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG, Netherlands, 2015) and a research position at the Nuclear Medicine Laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine of USP (FMUSP) from 2017 to 2020, where I coordinated molecular biology experiments. During this time, I also collaborated with Université de Paris (France) and held a postdoctoral position at the institution. In addition to my research, I have contributed to academia as a collaborating professor at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at USP (ICB/USP) through the Talent Attraction and Retention Program (PART/USP) in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology (2020). In this role, I played an active part in mentoring new researchers and advancing knowledge in neuroscience. With over 19 years of experience in animal models, my research focuses on neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Parkinsons disease. I investigate both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, including neuroprotection and neuroplasticity strategies. Over the past three years, I have led a clinical trial aimed at translating preclinical findings into human patients with Parkinsons disease, facilitating a true bench-to-bedside approach.Research InterestsNeurodegenerative diseases (Parkinsons disease)Neuroprotection neuroplasticityNeuroinflammation therapeutic interventionsMolecular biology translational researchPhysical exercise non-pharmacological interventionsPositron emission tomography (PET) neuroimaging (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
