Associate Professor in the Department of History at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG). Coordinator of the Laboratory of Medieval Studies at UFMG. His main field of study is the history of Mediterranean Christianities during Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages, with emphasis on the interface between ecclesiastical communities and urban centers, religious and political cultures, mystical movements and social reactions to crises, between the 11th-15th centuries.
