Birthplace: Brazil

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), where I also completed a Master's degree in Materials Science with a focus on obtaining and applying cellulose nanocrystals from Amazonian fibers. Currently, I am a doctoral candidate in Materials Science at UFSCar, having completed a sandwich period at the Institut Polytechnique de Grenoble under the guidance of the renowned Prof. Alain Dufresne. My doctoral research concentrates on the chemical modification of chitosan and nanocellulose for the development of adsorbent materials applied to the removal of pollutants such as heavy metals, dyes, and pharmaceuticals. My scientific output encompasses the synthesis and characterization of polysaccharide derivatives (chitosan and cellulose), extraction and application of plant-based nanoreinforcements (Amazonian fibers, Brazilian palm), chemical functionalization of nanocellulose, evaluation of the adsorptive capacity of metal oxides, and the development of conductive thin films. I demonstrate expertise in material characterization techniques, biomass extraction and chemical modification methods, and the analysis of experimental data through chemometric designs.
