Birthplace: Brazil

Geologist, professor at the Institute of Geosciences of University of Campinas (UNICAMP), full professor at Mineral Exploration, Economic Geology and Ore Petrography courses since 2011. She integrates the Geosciences Graduate Program team and participates in the Research Group Crustal Evolution and Metalogenesis (CNPq). She has experience in the area of structural control of mineral deposits; mapping and geochemistry of granitoids; fluid inclusions and stable isotopes analysis, with emphasis on the characterization and evolution of fluids in shear zones and associated ore deposits. Currently developing research-extension and technological inovation interdisciplinary projects in the area of sustainable development in small scale mining in Brazil. She is a full member of the Advisory Commission on Ecological Change and Environmental Justice of the Executive Board of Human Rights (DeDH) at Unicamp and a full member of the National Mining Plan 2050 of the Ministry of Mines and Energy. The main ongoing research-extension or technological inovation projects are: (a) 3D architecture and the structural controls on mineral systems in the eastern part of the Alta Floresta Mineral Province; (b) Au - (Cu - Pb - Zn) deposits associated with granitic suites of the Alta Floresta Auriferous Province (MT), Amazonian Craton: Au-Cu magma fertility, nature of fluids and geochemistry of trace elements in sulfides; and (c) Sustainability in small-scale gold mining: a case study of the Peixoto de Azevedo region (Mato Grosso), with researchers from the University of Cardiff (United Kingdom) and GCRF UK fund; (d) Ochroma pyramidale as a substitute for mercury in artisanal and small-scale gold mining: analysis of efficiency and toxicity of different species; and (e) Mercury analysis and phytoremediation in artisanal and small-scale gold mining regions of Peixoto de Azevedo, MT. In the area of geoscience education, she was supervisor in the Graduate Program of Multi-units in Science and Mathematics Education (PECIM) and is former Director of Education at the Exploratory Museum of Sciences of UNICAMP. She had PhD in Geosciences from University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, 1996) with two years (1993-1995) at the Earth Science Institute of Western University (Ontario). She completed her post-doctorate at UFRGS in 2005, with emphasis in mapping and elemental and isotopic geochemistry of paleoproterozoic granitoids. She was former professor at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) from 1998 to 2011 in the area of Economic Geology, Mineral Exploration and Geological Mapping. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
