is a Researcher of the National Center for Monitoring and Early Warning of Natural Disasters, Brazil. He received his degree in Environmental and Sanitary Engineering (B.Sc.) from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil (2003) and M.Sc. in Remote Sensing from the National Institute for Space Research, Brazil (2006). He obtained his Ph.D. from the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management, at the University of California, Santa Barbara, USA (2013). He is an Assistant Specialist of the Earth Research Institute, UCSB. His current research examines the interaction between physical and biogeochemical processes regulating carbon fluxes in the Amazon floodplain. His research at CEMADEN is focused on hydrological forecasting, flood impact analysis, and flood risk mapping. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
