Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz (ESALQ)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Professor of Soil Physics at the University of Sao Paulo, "Luiz de Queiroz" School of Agriculture - ESALQ/USP. Full Advisor for the Postgraduate Program in Soils and Plant Nutrition, ESALQ/USP, in the area of #8203;#8203;Soil Physics (CAPES 7). Agronomist and Master in Soil Science from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) and PhD in Soil Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), with a visiting time of Doctorate at the James Hutton Institute in Dundee, Scotland. Postdoctoral fellow in Sciences at the Center for Nuclear Energy in Agriculture at the University of São Paulo. His main research aims to quantify and understand the dynamics of soil physical properties and their interactions with crops in agricultural systems. His research lines are related to the effects of soil physical conditions on root growth, soil physical quality, soil water and gas flow, soil-root-plant-atmosphere relationship, and root growth modeling. Coordinating professor of GFiS - Soil Physics Research Group at ESALQ/USP. Currently, he conducts research with an emphasis on the physical stresses experienced by roots growing in the soil, with a particular focus on no-tillage system and its relationship with water and mechanical stress for root elongation. e-mail: moacir.tuzzin@usp.br (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
