João Paulo Loureiro Damasceno

PhD student in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Federal University of São Paulo in Ribeirão Preto (Concept 7), graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry ( UFES 2008) and master degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (UFES 2016) . Has experience in the field of pharmacognosy, in which worked with isolation, purification and identification of flavonoids, isocoumarins, essential oils and diterpenes. mass spectrometry, UV, CAD, DAD). Has experience in biological activity evaluation of natural products in vitro, performing antioxidant activity evaluation against reactive oxygen and nitrogen species, determination of anti-Helicobacter pylori antibiotic activity, microscopy, pre-formulation and solubility studies. Worked in cardiovascular physiology, evaluating the activity of flavonoids on atherosclerosis and experimental metabolic syndrome in apoE knockout mice through histomorphology and histopathology of vascular epithelium, vascular reactivity in an animal model. Currently developing bioavailability studies through in vitro bioaccessibility of pure diterpenes or composing their respective oleoresins, metabolism and intestinal permeation using a Caco-2 cell model.
