Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry of the Federal University of São Carlos (DQ/UFSCar), accredited to the Graduate Program in Chemistry, working at the interface between materials and catalysis.I received my bachelor's (2011) and master's (2013) degrees in Chemistry from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), with a sandwich period during my master's at the University of Guelph (Canada), where I worked on bio-oil upgrading under the supervision of Prof. Marcel Schlaf. I completed my Ph.D. at the University of Oxford (United Kingdom), defending a thesis entitled "Catalytic Conversion of Biomass-Derived Platform Molecules Over Zeolites" under the supervision of Prof. Edman Tsang. After my Ph.D., I conducted postdoctoral research in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of São Paulo (USP). From 2019 to 2021, I was a Humboldt Fellow at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Potsdam (Germany), as a guest of Prof. Markus Antonietti.Currently, I lead a research group at UFSCar focused on developing carbon nitride-based materials and single-atom catalysis, applied to reactions in the field of energy conversion, especially photocatalyzed reactions. I coordinate two major projects in catalysis: the FAPESP Young Researcher project, titled "Graphitic Carbon Nitrides as Platforms for Single-Atom Photocatalysis: Moving Towards Design Principles for Improved Performance," and the CNPq IBH2 MCTI project. I also serve as an Editor for the Journal of Materials Science and am a member of the editorial boards of ChemCatChem and Materials and Interfaces. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
