Ricardo Pontes is a chemical engineer with more than 20 years of experience in the areas of Chemical Industry Projects, and Research & Development. He worked with industries in the pulp and paper, petrochemical, metallurgical, chemical, agrarian, ceramical, glassmaking, sugar and ethanol, petroleum refining sectors. During his PhD and MSc, he performed researches in the effluent treatment areas, developing proficiencies in modeling, simulation and optimization of chemical industry processes. He has advanced knowledge in chemical engineering softwares, specifically MATLAB and GAMS. Currently lectures at the Federal University of São Paulo the following courses: Process Simulation, Numerical Calculus and Process Synthesis. His research areas are process optimization, effluent treatment, fluidization and reactors networks. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
