Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Mackenzie Presbyterian University (2006), a master's degree in Organic Chemistry (Chemistry of Natural Products) from the Chemistry Institute of the University of São Paulo (2009) and a PhD in Organic Chemistry (Organic Synthesis and Biocatalysis) from the Center for Natural and Human Sciences of the Federal University of ABC (2014) with a sandwich doctorate from Johannes Gutenberg Universitat Mainz in Germany in 2013. Currently Assistant Professor I of Chemistry and Materials Engineering courses at the Mackenzie Presbyterian University School of Engineering, and a member of the NDE and Collegiate Board of the Chemistry course. Works in the area of Natural Products Chemistry, working mainly on the isolation, characterization and structural modification of bioactive compounds obtained from aquatic macrophytes, especially those with antiparasitic and antiproliferative activity (e-mail: edgard.ferreira@mackenzie.br).
