President of the Brazilian Computing Society (SBC) since August 2023. Associate of the Brazilian Computing Society (SBC) since 1991. Full Professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), where she joined in 1996 and held the position of Coordinator of Postgraduate Course in Systems and Computing (PPgSC) in the period 2006-2010. Vice-president of the Brazilian Computing Society (SBC), for four years (July 2015 to July 2019). He holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Paraíba (1990), a Master's degree in Informatics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro - PUC-Rio (1994) and a PhD in Informatics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro - PUC- Rio (2000). She completed a postdoctoral degree at the University of Lancaster-UK (2004-2005) and a Senior Internship at the same University, in the period 2013-2014, as a scholarship holder from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). She was a member of the CAPES Computing Area Committee (2008-2014) and Director of the Regional Secretariat of the Brazilian Computing Society (SBC) from 2009 to 2013. She has experience in coordinating and participating in various projects, including in partnership with companies . She coordinates the UFRN IT Residency Program with the Federal Court of Rio Grande do Norte (JFRN) from 2017 to 20024. She currently participates in the SmartMetropolis project, in the context of developments for Smart Cities, involving public bodies and the private sector. He has experience in the area of Computer Science, with an emphasis on Software Architecture and Distributed Systems, working mainly on the following topics: Cloud Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), Middleware, Business Process Modeling, Component-based Development, Development Aspect Oriented, ADLs, Dynamic Reconfiguration and Security. She has served on several Program Committees and Organizing Committees for National and International Conferences. Until March 2025, she supervised 15 doctoral theses and 37 master's theses.
