I am a physician graduated at the University of São Paulo, in Pinheiros, SP. During the 6 years of my formation, I maintained good academic grades. In addition, I have always been involved in research activities. In my first year of course, I developed scientific research in mice, studying the gene expression of PGC-1 in an experimental model of tolerance to lipopolysaccharide (LPS). We aimed to assess the pathophysiology of systemic inflammatory responses in common infections in clinical practice, in this case, peritonitis causing sepsis. At the end of the experiment, I applied for a vacancy in the training group for scientific writing, staying 1 year (2016-2017) studying experimental models of "hyperacute" sepsis, that is, with rapid evolution of the hyperinflammatory and hyperdynamic stage , as we can see in cases of meningococcemia in children; After training, I applied for 3 research vacancies and some complementary academic projects. Initially from 2017 to 2019, I worked on the inclusion of atrial fibrillation in the romhilt score as a criterion for the diagnosis of left ventricular overload under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Carlos Alberto Pastore and Prof. Dr. Nelson Samesima. It is known that most patients with left ventricular overload have atrial fibrillation, however, this was not yet included in the classification criteria, and the study was designed to assess the statistical importance of this inclusion. At the end of the study, we concluded that it is important, expecting only at the present time that we will reach a larger number of patients; Another project was the study of sphincteroplasty under the guidance of Dr. Rodrigo Ambar Pinto. Many patients, especially multiparous women, end up developing fecal incontinence, as a result of impairment of the perineum and instability of pelvic structures. Some require sphincteroplasty, which is the need for a surgical approach to the anal sphincter. The objective was to assess the quality of life after surgery, using questionnaires. We conclude that in the short and medium term there is a significant improvement in quality of life. My last and most current research was the study of biliary atresia under the guidance of Dr. Ana Cristina Aoun Tannuri. Many of our patients, due to the progression of a cirrhotic state with immune compromise, end up developing infections such as spontaneous bacterial peritonitis and cholangitis. I developed an experimental model in young rats submitted to common bile duct ligation and puncture with interleukins, histopathology and clinical score. As a result, we saw that it was a workable model and that it had the potential to study the simultaneity of pathologies. This last work was recognized with 2 academic awards (Oswaldo Cruz and Fundação Faculdade de Medicina) and published (1st author). Among other activities, I participated in the Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health project (Department of Preventive Medicine at FMUSP and IFMSA), in which we approach public health in communities. I organized the Young Doctor project under the guidance of Professor Dr. Chao Lung Wen, in which we discussed attention education with public school students in Santos, using telemedicine as a teaching tool. I was vice president and president of the League of Colorectal Surgery. I was director of leagues and student representative. As a last activity, I was a monitor of the discipline of integrated case discussion (DIC), guiding students from previous years on medical topics based on illustrative clinical cases. As practical activities, I did 2 years of internship, involving 27 internships, in which I performed emergency care, outpatient, nursing activities, documentation, outpatient clinics, first aid, surgical instrumentation, specific medical procedures under supervision. I developed work at the University Hospital of USP in a COVID-19 pandemic, attending urgent and emergency cases. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
