Board-certified plastic surgeon recognized by the Brazilian Federal Medical Council (CFM/CRM-SP) and the Brazilian Medical Association (AMB). Full member of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery (SBCP) and international member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).He has a strong academic background, visiting prestigious institutions such as the University of Toronto, New York University, and Harvard University. He earned his masters, doctoral, and postdoctoral degrees at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), through a graduate program rated with the highest academic score (CAPES 7) in Brazil. He also served as a research fellow at UNICAMP until 2023, leading scientific projects in the field of plastic surgery. With over 20 years of experience in the specialty, he is a university professor and has been actively involved in training plastic surgery residents for more than 16 years.He has made a significant contribution to the development of an innovative fat grafting technique for breast reconstruction approach that has become one of the most widely used worldwide. Today, this technique is routinely applied in post-explant reconstructions, post-mastectomy breast cancer reconstruction, and aesthetic breast surgeries.His masters research was featured as a cover article in the British Journal of Surgery in 2012. In 2017, he received a prestigious award in the United States, recognizing the technique as one of the most innovative treatments in the world. These accomplishments have established him as a global reference in breast surgeryparticularly in breast reconstruction, aesthetic breast procedures with reduced scarring, breast explant surgery, and implant-free breast augmentation.His scientific work has been published in high-impact journals ranked as Qualis A. He has served on various scientific committees of both the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery (SBCP). He currently serves on the editorial boards of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Global Open and the Brazilian Journal of Plastic Surgery, and is also a reviewer for several leading international medical journals.
