Mariah Boratto Peixoto dos Santos

Peixoto holds a Bachelor's Degree at University of São Paulo: Public Policy Management (2017- mid 2022). Coordinates the research group called D.I.A.N. (Debates and Investigations on Animals and Nature) since 2018, being a member since 2017. Worked on a Scientific Initiation project entitled "Nature Photography and its influences on children's conceptions about animal rights "(2018 - 2020), advised by Prof. Dr. Luis Paulo de Carvalho Piassi and funded by São Paulo Research Agency (FAPESP). In 2019, worked as a research assistant at the University of Ottawa, participating on the Mitacs Globalink Program. In 2020, did a four months research internship at University of Gothenburg, Sweden, also funded by FAPESP and advised by Prof. Dr. Helena Pedersen. Also works as a photographer and had exhibited her art at many events. Is interested on Critical Animal Studies, Critical Animal Pedagogy, Environmental Education, Visual Education, Photography, Animal Rights, Visual Arts and Public Policies focused on education, culture, animals and the environment.
