She is currently a professor at the Center for Informatics at the Federal University of Pernambuco, teaching subjects with emphasis on human-robot interaction and interactive multimedia systems. Her research interests include areas such as augmented and virtual reality systems, advanced interfaces, 5G networks and the Internet of Things. Founded in 1998 the Research Group on Virtual Reality and Multimedia (GRVM), leading since then the research team of this group. Since 2020 she has been a full member of the Pernambuco Academy of Sciences. She has coordinated and coordinated several research projects in the areas of computer vision, human-robot interaction, Internet of Things, virtualization, SDN, and data visualization and multimedia systems, with national and international partnerships.
