Giselle Gubernikoff

University professor, filmmaker, publicist, graduated in Arts/Cinema, ECA USP (1976), Master in Arts/ Cinema, ECA USP (1985), PhD in Arts/ Cinema from ECA USP (1992), associate professor in Communication Sciences/ Advertising, ECA USP (2000). Full Professor at ECA USP in Visual Arts/Multimedia and Intermedia in photography, film and video specialization (2011). She is currently a full professor in the Department of Visual Arts at ECA USP. She worked in Brazilian Cinema, with emphasis on the specializations Production, Screenplay, Direction, Continuity and Film Editing, with directors such as Roberto Santos, Paulo Cesar Sarraceni, Raquel Gerber and Nelson Pereira dos Santos, and producers such as Aurora Duarte and Anibal Massaini. She began her career in advertising cinema in 1975, and in 1977, coordinates the production area and is assistant director of João Daniel Thikamiroff at JODAF PC. In 1983, she was hired by GLOBOTEC (Globo Tecnologia em Comunicação) where structures the Department of Special Projects (DIPRO). She markets, screenwriters and directs films for the advertising market. She has a long career as a contact and assistant director and screenwriter, having worked in leading technology film companies in film making, where she participated in the making of dozens of films of the genre. Invited to participate in the staff of Diana Cinematográfica (1988 to 1996), a company originally from the Casablanca group, she directs the Department of Special Projects, implementing the areas of Documentary Video, TV programs and post-production of feature films, in the implementation of Casablanca Finish House and Diana Multimedia, pioneer companies of the audiovisual market in working with digital support. In 1996, she became a PhD professor at the Film Course of ECA USP. In 1998, she began teaching Advertising Cinema classes in the Department of Public Relations, Advertising and Tourism of ECA USP, where she produces social campaigns with students. As an associate professor, she planned and coordinated the implementation of the technical facilities necessary for teaching and research in Digital Media, at CRP ECA and as President of the Informatics Committee of NICA - Computer Center of ECA USP (2001/2002), when she receives an award from the Pro-Reitoria of Research of the University of São Paulo. From 1998 to 2003, she coordinated the BR Cinema Movement with the University of São Paulo, Petrobras' project to expand the audience of the national cinema. As a professor at ECA she produces a series of films with students, among them, the pilot for TV Hospedaria dos Imigrantes (1997), VT Anatomia Dental (1997), and the documentary Museu Paulista da USP (1999). In 2002, coordinates the implementation with the USP Museum of Contemporary Art of the VIRTUAL MAC website and updates the ECA USP website. In 2010, she offers university extension courses at the Paulista Museum of USP and to the Museum of Contemporary Art of USP. From 2007 to 2011, as an associate professor at the Museu Paulista of USP, she developed research related to Multimedia in Museums. Since 2014 she has taught disciplines at EACH School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities of USP, linked to the Textile and Fashion course, and in the Basic Cycle the discipline Brazilian Art, Literature and Culture, with content dedicated to Brazilian Cinema. From 2019 she is guiding in the DIVERSITAS post-graduate course, linked to FFLCH USP. With research focused on the areas of Brazilian cinema, audiovisual production, advertising cinema, digital media and new communication technologies, museology and multimedia, she achieves projection in the national media with research on the representation of women in cinema and the star system, with interviews granted to the newspaper O Globo, Veja Magazine, Folha de São Paulo, among others, having published in 2016 the integration of its research in the e-book Cinema Identidade e Feminismo (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
