Renan Rodrigues de Oliveira Silva

Graduated in Environmental Management Technology (2010) and Technological Chemistry (2014) from the Catholic University of Santos. He completed his Master's degree in 2017 and his PhD in 2023 at the Department of Biochemical-Pharmaceutical Technology, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of São Paulo (FBT/FCF/USP). He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Pharmacy of FCF/USP, where he develops his research at the Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Development and Innovation (Deinfar) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Humberto Gomes Ferraz. Abroad, Renan completed the sandwich doctorate at Kings College London in the United Kingdom, where he worked on synthesizing new chelating compounds of the hydroxypyridinone class. He also completed internships at the Istituto di Chimica dei Composti Organometallici in Florence, Italy, where he worked on synthesizing and characterizing selected phosphine ligands and their corresponding metal complexes. He also completed internships at the University of Kaiserslautern in Germany, where he developed liquid-liquid extraction work in microfluidic devices. He also completed internships at the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands, where he deepened his knowledge of organic synthesis in flow chemistry in microreactors in one of the world's leading laboratories in this area of research. He works as a laboratory manager, providing training for new members, writing reports, scientific articles, and task execution protocols, and presenting the research group's work at scientific events. Its area of activity encompasses the application of microreactor technology in drug synthesis, transposition of batch processes to flow processes, process intensification, synthesis of new molecules with pharmacological potential, green chemistry applied to drug synthesis, organic synthesis, purification processes, instrumental analysis with HPLC-UV, LC-MS, NMR and infrared spectroscopy techniques, drug degradation, development and validation of analytical methods in HPLC.
