He holds a PhD in Economic History (2022) a Master's in Social History (2015) from the University of São Paulo USP. He is also Teacher (2009) Bachelor (2010) in History from the Federal University of Pernambuco UFPE. He is a member of the United States History: Regional, National, and Global (18th to 21st Centuries) Study Group at the University of São Paulo. He researches Political History of the United States during the Republican administration of Ronald Reagan (1981-1988), with emphasis on a case study in the Californian city of Los Angeles. Having a special interest in the formulation, implementation and perception of its neoliberal public policy; mobilization of African American movements; the living conditions of poor black communities; and its representation in cinema. In addition, he has been developing research on the performance of Afro-American movements in Los Angeles after 1992, seeking to understand the context in which initiatives such as the Coalition against police abuse established partnerships around the world in the human rights strugle, focusing more specifically on their relationship with actors from the Brazil in sharing knowledge and experiences in the face of systems of oppression. His areas of interest are: History, with an emphasis on United States History; African American History; History and politics; History and Cinema; Theory and Philosophy of History.
