Marina Mantellatto Grigoli

Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Gerontology from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) (20172021 / 20212023). I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Gerontology at UFSCar, developing a sandwich doctorate at Johannes Gutenberg Universität Mainz (JGU Mainz), Germany, under a co-tutelle agreement, co-supervised by Prof. Dr. Márcia Regina Cominetti (UFSCar) and Prof. Dr. Kristina Endres (JGU Mainz).Since 2017, I have been a member of the Aging Biology Laboratory (LABEN), where I work with biomarkers for Alzheimers disease (AD). I was a FAPESP fellow during my undergraduate research and Masters studies, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Márcia Regina Cominetti.Currently, I hold a CNPq fellowship through the Doctoral Sandwich Abroad (SWE) program and participate in the thematic project Biology and function of ADAM10 isoforms for the differential diagnosis of Alzheimers disease using electrochemical sensors. In 2025, I completed the FELASA Category B course (now referred to as Function A/D), following European Directive 2010/63/EU, which qualifies me to work with in vivo animal models in research.I have technical skills in cellular and molecular biology and experience in dementia research, especially blood-based biomarkers for Alzheimers disease, as well as in cognitive stimulation, mental health, public health, and both frail and healthy aging.My main research interests include dementia, Alzheimers disease, plasma and blood biomarkers for AD, the role of ADAM10 in AD, and the relationship between type 2 diabetes mellitus and Alzheimers disease.
