PhD in Philosophy from Université Paris VIII (France), at the Ecole Doctorale Pratiques et Théories du Sens (ED 31). He holds both a Master's and a Doctorate in Mathematical Education from Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP-Rio Claro), having completed a research internship during his Masters at the Department of Philosophy at Universidad Nacional del Sur, Bahía Blanca, Argentina. He is a professor and researcher at the Department of Exact, Biological, and Earth Sciences at Universidade Federal Fluminense (PEB/UFF) and at the Graduate Program in Education at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (PPGE/UFRJ). He coordinates the international cooperation between UFF and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), which was awarded the ODA - International Interdisciplinary Research Projects 2024 Prize, funded by the British Academy, as well as national cooperation between UFF and UNESP, supported by CNPq, FAPERJ, and FAPESP. Currently, he holds an APQ1 research grant (process 294283) and is a Young Scientist of Our State (process 298329), both funded by FAPERJ. His research interests focus on themes that challenge the systemic capture and exhaustion caused by colonialism and neoliberalism, with an emphasis on philosophies of difference, perspectivism, and Afro-indigenous thought. In 2022, his thesis won the Grande Prêmio Unesp de Tese. He is also passionate about cinema, cycling, nature, and is the father of Serena de Matos Costa. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
