João Inácio Yutaka Ota

João I. Y. Ota has obtained the degree of Doctor of Enginnering (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, in 2016, and the M.S. and B.S. degrees in electrical engineering from University of Campinas (Universidade Estadual de Campinas - Unicamp), Brazil, in 2011 and 2008, respectively. From Sept. 2011 to Sept. 2012 he was a research student in Akagi-Fujita Laboratory, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. Dr. Ota was a recipient of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT-Japan) Scholarship for Research Students. Since Sep., 2018, he is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Department of Systems and Energy of School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Campinas (Unicamp). He has experience in Electrical Engineering, with focus on Power Electronics applied to Power Utilities and Electronic Systems and Controls; on Electrical Power Systems; and also in Product Development Process. His research interests are focused on power electronics applications for power utilities, multilevel converters, smart grids, power quality and FACTS. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
