Luis Carlos Girão is a Ph.D. in Literature and Literary Criticism at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) from 2018 till 2021. He holds a Master's degree in Literature and Literary Criticism by the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, funded by Coordinating Agency for Advanced Training of Graduate Personnel (CAPES) from 2015 till 2017. He's also a specialist in Graphic Design by the 7 de Setembro College (2013) and majored in Fashion Design at the Catholic College of Ceará (2008). Since 2017, he's a member at the research group 'Hallyu - Korean Studies', verified by the CNPq Research Group Directory, being an associated member at the International Research Society for Children's Literature (IRSCL) and the Korean Literature Association (KLA) since 2021, as well as an associated member at the Korea Association of Literature for Children and Young Adults (KALCYA), the World Association for Hallyu Studies (WAHS), and the Association for Asian Studies (AAS) since 2023 and 2024. His study interests and research surrounds the themes of Korean Literature, Children's Literature, Literary Translation, Literary Criticism, New Materialisms, and Korean Studies. He currently works as a visiting professor in the Korean Language and Literature BA and as a post-doctoral researcher in Korean Studies, under the supervision of Yun Jung Im Park, at the Department of Oriental Letters at the University of São Paulo (USP).
