Ph.D. in Oceanography from the Instituto Oceanográfico da Universidade de São Paulo, M.Sc. in Oceanography from the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, and B.Sc. in Biology from the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia. Her work primarily focuses on Ecosystem Ecology and Biodiversity Conservation. She conducted research in Brazil's largest federal marine coastal conservation unit, APACC. She has experience working with large datasets and has recently been dedicated to offshore research. She participated in five Oceanographic Cruises (Alpha Crucis/USP, Skandi Commander/DOF/Petrobras, Skandi Chieftain/DOF/Petrobras, Seven Waves/Subsea 7/Petrobras, Sapura Diamante/Sapura/Petrobras) and was part of the organizing committee of the Second Brazilian Symposium on Deep-sea corals (II SBCAP), held in July 2021.
