Tiago de Lima Castro

Graduated in Philosophy from the Methodist University of São Paulo (2014), where he received the II Prêmio de Educação em Direitos Humanos (2011), a Master's in Music from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2017), and a PhD in Music from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2022), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Lia Tomás. He has been researching the intersection between music, philosophy, and the history of science in the work of René Descartes, primarily, and authors from the 16th and 17th centuries. The master's thesis is recommended as a bibliographic source in the German translation of Compendium musicae entitled "René Descartes: Compendium musicae. Abriss der Musik," translated and commented by Rudolf Ketteler and published by Georg Olms Verlag in 2022. He published the thesis "Descartes - Musical Dialogues" by Cultura Acadêmica in 2024.
