Alice Freitas Versiani

Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), and holds an MSc and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and completed her Ph.D. internship at the Institute for Medical Engineering and Science (IMES) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Made her first postdoctoral period at the Medical School of São José do Rio Preto (FAMERP), where she is a guest teacher at the postgraduate program. Recently finished a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB)/USA. Currently, is a researcher at Nanotechnology Service of the Brazilian Nuclear Technology Development Center. She has experience in Virology, mainly molecular biology, protein expression, immunodiagnostic, and epidemiology. Her main research line is Nanobiomedicine, a co-founder and member of the Nanobiomedical Research Group (nanobiomrg.com), headquartered at UFMG, with national and international collaborations in the area. Conducts research with gold and carbon nanomaterials to develop alternative diagnostic platforms and vaccine carriers for infectious and chronic diseases. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
