He holds a PhD in Regional Planning and Public Policies from the University IUAV of Venice, Italy (2018). His PhD thesis focused on the water-energy-food nexus concept. In particular, he looked at identifying the connections between water, energy and food sectors in cities. The objective was to understand which are the main opportunities and barriers in approaching the “urban water-energy-food nexus”. The research built on the urban metabolism metaphor and on urban political ecology approach.The topic can be linked to the largest debate on resource management in cities towards sustainable development, but it also focuses on governance, political, social equity issues. He is currently a post-doc research fellow at University of São Paulo in the scope of the project GLOCULL - Globally and LOCally-sustainable food-water-energy innovation in Urban Living Labs (Belmontforum/FAPESP), working on the analysis of “Local dynamics and conflicts over multiple interests and uses in Billing’s reservoir region from the nexus approach perspective”. He also holds a Master Degree in Policy and Planning for Cities, Environment and Landscape from the University IUAV of Venice, Italy (2013); and a bachelor degree in Geography from the University of Padova, Italy (2010).
