Bachelor's degree in Microbiology and Immunology with a Master's and Ph.D. in Science (Microbiology) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), with an internship at the University of Groningen (Rijksuniversiteit Groningen). Completed postdoctoral studies in the areas of Microbiology and Soil Ecology at ESALQ/USP and Ecological Studies of Saline-Alkaline Lakes in the Pantanal at the Center for Nuclear Energy in Agriculture (CENA/USP).
