Birthplace: Brazil

Ph.D. in Genetics and Molecular Biology (2016) from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), with a 10-month period at the University of Florida, Lake Alfred, United States (2014-2015). Master's degree in Tropical and Subtropical Agriculture with an emphasis on Genetics, Plant Breeding, and Biotechnology (2010) from the Agronomic Institute, Campinas. Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Alfenas/MG (2007) and a Degree in Biology from the Claretiano University Center (2017). I completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Sylvio Moreira Citriculture Center/IAC, focusing on functional genomics and plants; genetic transformation, gene silencing, and genomic editing in the control of phytopathogenic bacteria. I served as the Coordinating Professor of the plant cytogenetics discipline (2019-2021) in the postgraduate program in Genetics at the Agronomic Institute (IAC). I also taught Molecular Biology in the improvement course in Molecular Biology for Plant Disease Control (2020-2021) at the University Center of Araras (UNAR). I had a stint (Visitor Scholar) in 2021 at the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of California, Davis, United States, as a FAPESP postdoctoral scholarship holder and worked as a "Research associate" in the almond breeding laboratory at the University of California - UcDavis. I have published scientific articles (14), a book (1), book chapters (5), summaries in national and international events (26); delivered lectures (9) and courses (2); participated in scientific events (32); organized scientific events (2); created blog texts (13); supervised undergraduate thesis (1) and Scientific Initiation projects (3). I received scientific awards as a supervisor (2) and awards at international congresses (4). I participated in completion panels for postgraduate (1) and undergraduate courses (4), and judging committees (3). I have been involved in research projects (7). Throughout my academic journey, I received scholarships from FAPEMIG (undergraduate), CAPES - REGULAR modalities (Master's and Doctorate), CAPES - PSDE (Sandwich Doctorate) and PED (during the Doctorate), CNPQ-INCT (Postdoctoral) and FAPESP - REGULAR modality (Postdoctoral). I am a reviewer for scientific journals (Bragantia; Tropical Plant Pathology; BMC Plant Biology, Biotechnology Research and Innovation) and a project evaluator at FAPESP. I am also a co-founder of the science dissemination blog "Peeling Science". Currently, I am a visiting researcher in the Department of Microbiology at the Federal University of Viçosa, developing a project funded by the University of Munster - Germany and a Research Analyst (freelancer) at Preescouter.
