Birthplace: Brazil

Graduated in Environmental Chemistry at Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (IBILCE-UNESP), has completed master and doctorate in Chemistry (Analytical Chemistry) at the Instituto de Química de Araraquara (IQ-UNESP), focusing on the study of feasibility of applying waste for the generation of energy through thermal (combustion, pyrolysis and oxy-combustion) and biological (anaerobic digestion) processes. Has worked as professor at the Department of Analytical Chemistry at the same Institute, where has been working as researcher in the areas of Thermal Analysis, Electroanalytical chemistry and Bioelectrochemistry, with an emphasis on renewable energies, working on the following topics: energy reuse of sanitary sludges and agro-industrial wastes, photocatalytic/photoelectrocatalytic conversion of CO2 into fuels, biohydrogen, production of H2 and electricity in photobioelectrochemical systems. Is currently a postdoctoral fellow of Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP), developing research aimed at the integration between biological and bioelectrochemical processes for the production of H2 and electricity from the digestion of glycerol and wastewater from citrus industry.
