Márcia de Oliveira Sampaio Gomes

Professor of the Internal Medicine Department at the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science at the University of São Paulo (VCM - FMVZ / USP). Holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (2003). Residency in Nutrition and Clinical Nutrition of Dogs and Cats at the School of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences at São Paulo State University (FCAV - Unesp; 2004-2006). Master's degree (2007-2009) and Ph.D. (2009-2013) in Veterinary Medicine, with a focus on Veterinary Clinics, working with Nutrition and Clinical Nutrition, from FCAV - Unesp. Completed part of her doctoral activities at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany (2011 - 2012). Founding member of the Brazilian Society of Nutrition and Nutrology of Dogs and Cats (SBNutriPet) and responsible for the Clinical Nutrition Service at the Veterinary Hospital of FMVZ/USP. Her areas of interest and research include nutrition and clinical nutrition of dogs, the relationship between nutrition and the intestinal microbiome, the use of nutraceuticals, and the nutrition of geriatric dogs and cats.
