Harold Ivan Lozano Zarto

Graduated at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Chemistry, 2000) and doctorated at the Universidad de Chile (Doctor of Chemistry, 2007). He has experience in the field of Inorganic Chemistry, with emphasis on Functional materials, working mainly in the following subjects: heterosupramolecular materials, nanomateriales, nanostructured composite photocatalysts and hybrid laminating semiconductors, self-assembling structures. His training has focused mainly on the manufacture, characterization and study of the optical and catalytic properties of nanostructured materials (copper nanoparticles, hybrid nanocomposites and their use as photocatalysts, nanofiltration membranes). He developed several technologies (synthesis method of copper nanoparticles, hybrid nanocomposites, photocatalysts, nanofiltration membranes), of which he filed several patent applications before the USPTO. He has led various technology transfer and applied research projects as well as basic research. He has designed other projects and obtained state funding in Chile, has been the principal investigator of most of them, including managing R & D and managing it. Specialist in techniques of characterization of materials and apparatus, mainly in Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and transmission (TEM), XPS Raman Spectroscopy, Raman Microscopy, Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Diffraction of (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, gas chromatography (GC-FID), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface analysis (BET ), Dynamic Dispersion of Light (DLS), Nanolithography with electron beam, UV lithography, Sputerrings, Quartz crystal microbalances, optical microscopes, solar simulators, spectrophotometers, Vernier Labquest interface, etc. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
