Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto Oceanográfico (IO)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

I have a biology degree from the Universidade Estadual Paulista, a master's in ecology from the Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia, and a PhD in oceanography from the Universidade de São Paulo. During my PhD, I looked into the occurrence of micropollutants in deep-sea organisms and how feeding strategies affect the ingestion of anthropogenic fibers by benthic invertebrates in the Southwest Atlantic and in the Antarctic continental shelf. Currently, I am a collaborating researcher at the Instituto de Pesca, studying end-of-life fishing gear with a focus on its assimilation into the blue circular economy. My main interests are in the topics of marine debris, benthic ecology and ocean literacy. I am also actively engaged in supporting science-based policies. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
