She holds a PhD in Sciences, a Master's in Inorganic Chemistry, a Bachelor's in Chemistry with technological attributions and a Degree in Chemistry from the State University of Campinas. She held a Post-Doctorate at the Lawrence National Berkeley Laboratory, an institution linked to the University of California - Berkeley, United States, under the guidance of Prof. Gabor Somorjai developing a project in Surface Analysis and Catalysis. She is currently Head of the Laboratory of Surface Phenomena and Thin Films of the Materials Metrology Division of Inmetro, working on projects of synthesis of graphene reference materials, synthesis of carbon nanomaterials from biomass, characterization of surfaces by photoelectron spectroscopy and works on issues involving standardization and industrial quality control of graphene along with the productive sector, coordinating the "Forum Grafeno" by Inmetro. She is a Young Scientist of Our State by Faperj and coordinator of several institutional projects by Inmetro involving public-private partnerships, incubation of spin-offs and creation of certification/regulation programs for nanomaterials via proficiency tests. She works as a permanent professor in the Professional Master's Program in Metrology and Quality at Inmetro and in the Graduate Program in Nanobiosystems, where she has guided, and is currently guiding, several graduate students.
