Eduardo Giangrossi Machado

Graduated in Chemistry (Full-time Bachelors Degree with emphasis on Materials) from the Institute of Chemistry of São Carlos, University of São Paulo (IQSC-USP). During the undergraduate program, developed three years of research in two scientific initiation projects: one in the field of biocatalysis, funded by FAPESP, and another in conductive polymers, supported by CNPq. Completed a Masters degree in Physical Chemistry at IQSC-USP under the supervision of Prof. Hamilton Varela, with research focused on nonlinear phenomena in the electro-oxidation of the borohydride ion in complex systems. During the PhD, also under the supervision of Prof. Hamilton Varela and with FAPESP funding, investigated the electro-oxidation of fuel mixtures, with emphasis on emergence and complexity. Completed a research internship at Dalhousie University (Canada), supervised by Prof. Harm Hinrich Rotermund, deepening studies in complex systems.After completing the PhD in 2017, carried out postdoctoral research at the Department of Chemistry at UFSCar, supervised by Prof. Lúcia H. S. Mascaro, and subsequently at the Institute of Chemistry at UNICAMP, initially with CINE (Center for Innovation on New Energies), supervised by Prof. Raphael Nagao, working on the development of in operando techniques for elucidation of reaction mechanisms and simultaneous catalyst characterization. Between 2019 and 2021, conducted postdoctoral research in Nanotechnology and Solar Energy, supervised by Prof. Ana Flávia Nogueira, with a FAPESP-funded project focused on the stability of perovskite films and degradation mechanisms in emerging solar cells.Since August 2021, has been working as a Technology Engineer at Braskem, applying experience in research and development in the field of physical chemistry to the development of new technologies and industrial processes. Has consolidated experience in electrochemistry, in situ characterization techniques, synthesis and characterization of semiconductors, and photoelectrochemistry, with emphasis on experimental methods and advanced characterization techniques, as well as in the evaluation of industrial processes from environmental and techno-economic perspectives.
