Flávia holds a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Unisul (2010), Tubarão/SC. In 2012, she joined the Butantan Institute, where she carried out her Direct Doctoral project at the Parasitology Laboratory, obtaining her PhD in 2018 from the "Pathogen-Host Relationship Biology" program of the Biomedical Sciences Institute of the University of São Paulo (USP). Since 2018, she has been a researcher and curator of the Entomological Collection of the Butantan Institute. She is a professor and accredited advisor in the Specialization Program in Animals of Interest in Health: Animal Biology, as well as coordinator of university extension courses at the Butantan Institute Higher School (Esib). She researches, advises, and teaches on various topics within the One Health scope. She is currently on a sabbatical year, developing her postdoctoral research at the Florida Medical Entomology Laboratory, University of Florida.She is a member of the Entomological Society of America, the Brazilian Entomological Society; the Planetary Health Alliance; the One Sustainable Health Forum; the Dipterists Network of Brazil; and the Brazilian Citizen Science Network. She is part of the editorial board of several national and international journals, acts as an ad hoc reviewer for the Fapesp funding agency, and serves as an examining board member for graduate programs. In parallel, she works in scientific dissemination, mainly related to mosquitoes, arboviruses, and neglected diseases, and is the founder and administrator of the social profiles @entomologuia and @conhecendoosmosquitos.Additionally, she carries out scientific-social productions within the scope of Diversity and Inclusion in Science and Health. She is a founding member and member of the Executive Committee (interim president - volunteer) of the Brazilian Chapter of the International Organization Women in Global Health; a member and member of the Executive Committee (elected treasurer - volunteer) of the Brazilian Chapter of the "Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World"; a member and member of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee of the "International Society for Biocuration"; a member of the Alliance of Gender Equality and Universal Health Coverage; and part of several Brazilian networks of support and collaboration among women in science (Rede Mulheres do Brasil - Comitê Ciência na Saúde, Rede Brasileira de Mulheres Cientistas, Rede Kunhã Asé de Mulheres na Ciência, Rede Mulheres na Zoologia, Rede Mulheres na Ecologia, and Rede Mulheres na Entomologia).
