Gustavo Fernandes dos Santos

Holds both a Bachelors and a Teaching Degree in History from the University of Campinas (Unicamp). Conducted an Undergraduate Research project funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), entitled The Readings and Practices of Liberalism by Andrew Jacksons Administration, 18291837, which resulted in the dissertation Theory and Political Practice: Freedom in the United States, 17761837. Current research interests lie in the History of BrazilUnited States Foreign Relations during the Cold War period. Drawing upon the field of Intellectual History, this line of inquiry seeks to understand foreign relations as an integral dimension of the Cultural Cold War, with particular emphasis on the intellectual networks and discursive frameworks of the period.
