Matthew completed his PhD in Systems Biology in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology -ICB- University of Sao Paulo. He possesses a Master's degree in Cell and Tissue Biology within the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at USP (2012-2015) working with lipid metabolism in glioblastomas. He possesses a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology from Texas State University (2009). During his undergraduate course, he worked in the fields of medicine, science education, and leadership (2005-2009). He also works in the areas of scientific writing and editing. Currently, he is performing a post-doctoral project concerning epidemiology of HPV Infection in Men (HIM-project) at the Centre for Translational Investigation in Oncology (CTO) at the Instituto do Câncer do Estado de São Paulo Octavio Frias de Oliveira as part of the USP College of Medicine.
