Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP). Centro de Biologia Molecular e Engenharia Genética (CBMEG)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

He holds a B.Pharm. from Mackenzie Presbyterian University (2014) and a Ph.D. in Sciences from the University of São Paulo (2019). During his PhD, he did an exchange at the Universität Bern, Switzerland (2017 - 2019) and the Center of Excellence in Membrane Protein Research at the University of Bern. Since 2015, he has been working in the area of ion channels, with a focus on the TRP family. In 2020, he began establishing his independent research on studying TRPML channels at the Center for Medicinal Chemistry (CQMED) of the State University of Campinas. In addition to his research line, he is responsible for the chemical synthesis laboratory at CQMED, assisting in projects of planning, synthesis, and optimization of small molecules to support CQMED's new drug discovery programs, partnerships with other national and international research groups, and pharmaceutical companies. His work combines aspects of Medicinal Chemistry, Biological Chemistry, and Molecular Modeling to investigate new therapeutic targets, such as ion channels, protein kinases, and other proteins of pharmaceutical interest.
