Isabela Pimentel de Almeida

Ph.D. student at QIMR Berghofer and The University of Queensland (Australia), investigating risk, identifying biomarekers and understanding drug resistance of ovarian tumours in light of lncRNAs. M.Sc. in Bioinformatics at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics (IME) from the University of São Paulo (USP), associated with the Drosophilidae Laboratory at the Bioscience Institute (IB/USP) and funded by FAPESP. Bachelor in Biological Sciences by the Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB), with experience through scientific initiation on Matology (Embrapa/CNPq), Genetic Ancestrality and Microorganisms Genomic (UEPB/CNPq), having also developed activities as Teaching Assistant at the subjects of Fundamental Biochemistry and Genetics. She was a visiting student at an international exchange in a Bioinformatics internship at the Neurogenomics Laboratory from QIMR Berghofer (Brisbane, Australia), analysing RNAseq data. She was involved with research experience since High School, through Junior Scientific Initiation funded projects, during her Mining Technician degree at the Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia da Paraíba (IFPB).
