Birthplace: Brazil

I have a bachelor in Biotechnology from the Federal University of São Carlos (2021) and hold a Master's degree in Bioinformatics from the Center for Nuclear Energy in Agriculture - University of São Paulo (2025), with a focus on data-driven research and the analysis of large datasets in biology. My academic trajectory integrates solid knowledge of biological sciences with computing expertise, allowing for an interdisciplinary approach to unraveling the complex mechanisms of biological systems. Throughout my career, I have developed computational methods applied to transcriptomics, genomics, and metagenomics, ranging from the inference of pan-transcriptomes to protein annotation and the identification of non-coding RNAs. Moreover, I have performed co-expression network analyses, identified clusters of biosynthetic genes, and integrated multi-omics data, which has strengthened my ability to address biological questions in a systematic manner. Complementing this experience, I have a strong interest in the computational area of bioinformatics, possessing expertise in the development and execution of workflows in Linux environments using HPC clusters (SGE, PBS, LSF, SLURM), as well as in programming languages such as Python, R, and Bash for software development. My contributions to bioinformatics projects can be seen at: https://github.com/felipevzps, demonstrating my commitment to computational reproducibility and the use of open-source tools. Currently, I apply my interest in exploring and integrating automation, software development, and artificial intelligence approaches, which has enhanced the understanding of massive sequencing data (short-reads and long-reads) and promoted innovations in the analysis of large volumes of biological data in the projects I have worked on. This synergy of knowledge enables me to work strategically and innovatively, connecting advances in molecular biology with emerging technologies in bioinformatics and computational biology.
